Vivienne Westwood Red Label

SPRING/SUMMER 2011
Ready to Wear - London
Vivienne Westwood is not someone
 who really needs introducing.

Multiple variations on the trouser-suit, and shorts-suit, in stripes and checks, with the bottom-halves low-slung to deliberately expose floral button boxer-shorts beneath.Westwood also showed a great parade of must-have summer dresses, loose-cut, blouson-style, and shirt-waist, generally worn with mismatched, patent lace-ups. Low-cut cleavage slinks, with a bra built-in, echoed her famous corseted silhouette. The collection speaks to a funky professional set of women.Dame Vivienne, typically, took to the catwalk for the finale, with all her models, singing along lustily to Elvis's cover version of "You'llNever Walk Alone".

  2. This is a new kind of collection from Vivienne that focused on lighter fabrics but still embodied her quirky sense and still had her corseted silhouette. I love the face paint on the models. It casted an iridescent film across their faces on the runway.
